LONDON - Police have arrested a man as around 100 people demonstrated outside Prime Minister Tony Blair's home in County Durham in support of fox-hunting.
The man was detained for breaching the peace, a police spokesman said.
Blowing horns and waving banners, the protestors gathered as Blair prepared to meet his Irish counterpart Bertie Ahern at the house in Trimdon last week, ahead of talks on the Northern Ireland peace process.
The demonstration came as the government is set to force a bill through parliament to ban hunting foxes with hounds in England and Wales, a move which protesters say will have a negative impact in rural areas.
Despite the arrest, police said the protesters had been generally well behaved.
A group was allowed to enter the house to present their case to Blair.
