ESRC National Centre for E-Social Science (NCeSS) Consultation Day
Date: 28th January 2004
Venue: British Library, London
Time: 10-4
We are pleased to announce that the NCeSS Consulation Day is to be held
at the British Library in London on 28th January 2004. This workshop
will provide an opportunity for key representatives of the UK social
science community to learn more about the activities of the NCeSS and to
help shape the specification for the NCeSS Nodes. The Nodes will focus
on the development and application of grid technologies within the
context of substantive social research problems, organised around a set
of key themes. There is an overall budget of £4.5 million for the Nodes,
which will be commissioned in 2004 and begin work in April 2005. As an
initial starting point, we have produced a discussion document which
identifies a set of key themes that could form the basis of a research
agenda for the Nodes. This document is available from the NCeSS website
(http://www.ncess.org/consultation/).
We hope you can join us for this event. Space is limited and places will
be allocated on a strictly first-come first-served basis. Confirmation
of acceptance and the programme for the day will be sent out by email.
