University Lecturer in Financial Economics and Econometrics at Oxford University.
In October 2005 a new one year M.Sc in Financial Economics will be launched by Oxford University. Organized jointly by the Department of Economics and the Saïd Business School, the M.Sc aims to provide students with a thorough postgraduate training in financial economics. The programme will be run from the Saïd Business School but will draw faculty equally from the Economics Department and the Business school.
The Department of Economics seeks to appoint a University Lecturer in Financial Economics and Econometrics from 1 October 2004 (or as soon as possible thereafter) initially for a period of five years, with the possibility of reappointment until retirement. The post is associated with a tutorial fellowship at Keble College.
The main responsibilities of this new post are to engage in advanced study and research, to provide teaching for the core lectures in financial economics and/or financial econometrics, and to supervise graduate students.
The successful candidate will be appointed according to age on the Oxford lecturer scale up to a joint maximum of £42,900 (under review). The Department has discretion to recommend additional increments to candidates of exceptional merit. Additionally the College offers a generous housing allowance (currently £6,834 p.a), research and entertainment allowances.
