CALL FOR PAPERS AND FOR REFEREES / REVIEWERS

LATISS - Learning and Teaching in the Social Sciences

Edited by Penny Welch, University of Wolverhampton and
Susan Wright, Danish University of Education, Copenhagen

LATISS - Learning and Teaching in the Social Sciences is a refereed journal that aims to use the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, politics, international relations and social policy to reflect critically on learning and teaching practices in higher education and to analyse their relationship to changes in higher education policies and institutions.

The research field of Learning and Teaching in the Social Sciences includes:
· all aspects of learning and teaching and higher education reform from national and comparative perspectives
· evidence based developments in curriculum, assessment, learning and teaching methods
· analyses of impacts of institutional and national policies on learning and teaching - e.g. widening access, employability, audit, quality enhancement

The journal seeks to promote scholarship and research on learning and teaching and invites contributions from a wide and diverse community of practitioners, researchers and students. All contributions should be written in a clear and accessible style, avoiding the use of jargon.

Contributions are likely to fall into one of four categories
· Articles (5000-8000 words) extending the knowledge base through original research and scholarship.
· Essays (3000-4000 words) offering new perspectives and stimulating debate.
· Reports (1000-2500 words) of research in progress and innovations in practice.
· Reviews (600-1000 words) of relevant recent publications, electronic media and software and conferences.
