I will show drawings from my series "Minotaur" at SOAS as part of the
"Culture and Unconscious" conference on Friday, 9 July 2004. This is an
interdisciplinary conference that brings together artists, academics and
psychoanalysts and it is organised by the Tavistock Clinic and the
University of East London.
I will show my drawings during Art Forum 3, introduce my working process and
invite the audience to participate through discussion and drawing. Art Forum
3 will take place between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm in room B 111. The "Minotaur"
drawings are based on an intuitive process of collecting images and texts
from a range of different sources seeking archetypal images and
reinvigorating them by way of eclectic juxtaposition and spontaneous
execution.
I will also give a paper on Friday 9 July on "Where does that Leave the
Introverts - a Critique of Modernist Aesthetics from a Jungian Perspective"
in room B104 as part of the session "Archetypes of the Modern" from 9.30 am
to 11.00 am.
