I'm told that in a recent R4 programme, it was revealed that absolutely anyone capable of signing their name could act as a witness - even if they were 7 yrs old. Compare & contrast with passport form witnessing restrictions. Surely the two should be treated with the same degree of credibility, especially if you're then instructed to conduct a post-hoc audit?
