I am emailing from the Evelyn Oldfield Unit, a non-profit organisation
which offers free training and consultancy to Refugee Community
Organisations.
The Unit is developing an oral history project, which aims to highlight
the social, cultural and economic contributions that members of refugee
communities have made to London society since 1951. The project is being
funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and the City Parochial Foundation.
We are seeking to recruit 7 fieldworkers, who will be responsible for
collecting the life stories of individuals and using these to create local
displays and publications. Ideally they will be members of the communities
taking part in the project. In year one the communities will be: Afghan,
Iraqi, Latin American, Kurdish, Bosnian / Kosovan and Tamil. Successful
applicants will be offered a ten month paid contract (£18,000 pro rata)
and extensive training, which will be provided by London Metropolitan
University and the Museum of London.
If you would like to know more about these opportunities, or would like to
receive an electronic copy of the job advert then please email me at
[log in to unmask] or give me a call on 020 7700 0100 x 414.
Many thanks and best wishes
