At Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, patients can now
check waiting lists for operations via an award-winning network service.
This is the first hospital in the country to be linked up with the
Citizenlink. The service uses the latest video-conferencing technology to
give patients, staff and visitors face-to-face access to the East Riding of
Yorkshire Council's customer service network.
Citizenlink gives people access to about 580 council services as well the
waiting lists for operations and they can also access patient advice and
liaison services (PALS) through the link.
In the hospital's cyber caf? a desk has been installed where customers can
be connected to a trained advisor who will answer enquiries or transfer them
on to other services.
Malcolm Sims, Head of Support and Customer Service Development at East
Riding of Yorkshire Council said; "Launching the desks in hospitals has been
the result of many groups working together, East Riding of Yorkshire Council

and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust to make sure customers have the very best
service."

Yorkshire NHS Trust and will be the first of its kind in the country

in the cybercafe area of Castle Hill Hospital bringing state of the art
