CHJ — There's a new kind of prescription coming out of doctors' offices. The
drug: Information.
The National Library of Medicine, together with the American College of
Physicians Foundation, recently launched a new program called "Information
Rx."
InfoRx encourages doctors to refer patients to online information at
MedlinePlus.gov, a free governmental site (Source, NLM). Referrals are via
a "prescription" pad. Though anybody can visit the site at any time, the
InfoRx pad helps lead patients quickly to information targeting their
particular condition.
