There are only 6 weeks to go until the 6th Southern Institute for Health
Informatics Conference, to be held at the University of Portsmouth on
Friday 1st October 2004.
As usual, we have a wide range of speakers representing local and national
points of view. One of the major talking points will be the National
Programme for IT. John Willshere, Regional Implementation Director, NPfIT
Southern Cluster, is scheduled to speak, alongside representatives from a
strategic health authority, the BMA and a system provider. There will also
be sessions on how IT can help monitor clinical performance, and on the the
interaction between IT and the patient.
The conference is aimed at healthcare professionals, senior managers and
system developers both within the NHS and in companies supplying products
and services to it. Others with interests in health informatics will also
find plenty to hear and talk about.
The cost of early registration (bookings made before 1st September) is only
£75 (with discounts for multiple attendees from the same organisation),
which includes lunch.
