Whenever I have a code dumped on my desk (and for my own codes as well),
I compile them and run them with as many processors as I can get my
hands on, always with maximum compile-time and run-time checking.
In this case, there's a chance that there's an uninitialized variable that
happens to land on a word with zero in it with one processor, and on one
with nonzero junk in it with another processor.
