The list is a bit bigger than that. A quick search of the Top 500
Supercomputers (www.top500.org) database shows 34 Itanium-based systems,
including two of the top five. NASA's Columbia is currently #2 (was #1
for a few weeks!) There are many other Itanium-based clusters in use
around the world - a lot more than many think. I've visited several that
could make the Top 500 list if they wanted to, and all were using
Fortran.
