Yes, that is the situation. I moaned about ISO delays at the SC22 (parent
committee of the Fortran committee WG5) meeting in September and got very full
support from everyone there. The chairman John Hill promised to raise the matter
at the JTC 1 (parent committee of SC22) plenary in Berlin this week. I have not
heard yet how that went. It is very annoying to be pressed from on high to speed
up our processes while having these delays imposed by the ISO secretariat.
There is one consolation: with 17 yes country votes out of 17 on the draft,
every vendor knows that the Standard will be published soon and exactly what it
will say.

Convener, WG5
