Answer: No, of course not. I always name my variables A, B, C, etc and
then I go on with a pair of letters and then a letter followed by a
single digit etc. Sometimes I get very brave and start with X, Y, Z
instead of A, B, C. Since my programs hardly ever contain more than
26*(36**30) different variable names (if that's the number), I rarely
exceed the 31-character limit.
Also I have fewer than 26 children, and I have named them all A, B,
C.... It does not get too confusing unless there is a lot of noise in
the room and they can't tell whether I am calling M or N; D or T; etc.
