My own view is that such comparisons are usually red herrings.
However, perhaps Bill Long's opinion would carry weight with
your management, since he is writing from Cray. Perhaps an
intimate discussion with the Cray folks on the merits of
the project (that your mgmt could participate in) would be
better even than some literature references that might or
might not apply. I assure you that you will be able to dig
up lit references espousing the cause of your choice -- and
your mgmt will also be able to dig up lit references espousing
the cause of their choice. :-)
