The winner of the vote for the name of the postgrad conference at Leicester next year was, by a fraction, AMPAH. I think more or less everyone who voted for another option said "Please whatever you call it, don't call it AMPAH". But it got over half the votes, so AMPAH it is. I doubt it'll make much difference in a couple of year's time.
Departments will be getting posters emailed to them shortly, so let me know if they're not with you by the end of June.
Next year's conference will be March 19. The plan is to get some details up on the web at www.ampah.org.uk over the summer. I also plan to put up abstracts from the Manchester and Nottingham events.
There'll be further information out in October in the mail and on this list. At this stage I just thought to tell you all the result of the vote and the date, seeing as we've agreed it. The deadline for registering your attendance or offering papers won't be till around Jan 31. The only big difference is that we'd like to see more debutants at the conference. There have been complaints that people like me who have given two papers should really be talking at bigger conferences. Along those lines would anyone be interested in a postgrad panel at CA?
Hope you're all enjoying the sun.
