5. PUBLISHING
Granular-Synthesis: Immersive Works 1992-2002, Published by ZKM, Germany. Kurt Hentschläger und Ulf Langheinrich, two artists from Austria, have been working together since 1991 on extensive audiovisual productions and installations under the pseudonym of Granular-Synthesis. Central to their works, which have been exhibited internationally, is the synaesthetic merging of image and sound to form a single medium: image and sound are treated equally and match each other. Cooperation with the ZKM Karlsruhe has led to the issuing of a DVD video that provides the first-ever overview of the artists' work during the past decade. The two key working groups - the pieces on the human body and the abstract landscape / light / colour pieces - are displayed in the form of excerpts and documentation. DVD Video [Mac / PC] plus brochure [approx. 48 pages, numerous colour photos, German / Englis] ISBN 3-7757-1351-4, approx. EUR 29,80. http://www.zkm.de

Compiler / DVD-Magazine for Contemporary Art
Compiler//01 "Was ist Kunst, Marinela Kozelj?"
Compiler is a new presentation platform for contemporary art, in particular video and audio works, short films, performances and processes, and explores essential questions and concerns of international contemporary art. The first issue of Compiler, Compiler//01, focuses on art in former Yugoslavia. The basic concept was devised in collaboration with the artist Milica Tomic, and Rasa Todosijevic's Performance "Was ist Kunst, Marinela Kozelj?" (1978) was the point of departure for an inquiry into emancipatory politics in art. It focuses on works from artists and writers who are critical of nationalist tendencies and systems, and who are exploring other ways to (co-)exist. http://www.compiler.ws
