Subject: America and the UK
>I am what is currently called an anti-american.
I cannot imagine using such a phrase - or antiFrench, anti-Ethiopan etc -
because I think it invites an interpretation of totality AND the the
particular use has such a history
>when I say American i mean it as my perception of it as a whole, as a state
and an entity that projects itself upon the world and acts in that world.
+
>we can only resist the whole, resist the effect, reflect back upon
Americans the picture they are giving of themselves.
If it is the state you object to, and I don't disbelieve you, then I think
you should stick to that - good luck - and not involve the people as a set
& I'd steer clear of the supposed values of the world's majorities - you'll
get public hangings for sacraments
