Mark,
Thanks for your feedback. It works a treat.
Just for the record:
when I first tried your suggestion, I did not leave any "blank" space
in the document on which to "right click" to get the URL. All I was
getting was the URLs of the three images I was referencing in the page.
I added a few text lines at the top of the page with the result that
the properties dsiplayed the "real" location of the html page in Bb.
best,
Arthur

Hi Arthur.
You need the page properties and not (like with word files) the link
properties
To find out the "real" location, open the page.
Click with the right mouse button in that part of the page you want to
link
to.
Click on properties
Select the location information (Address URL)
instead of ..... content/_3501_1/Text_and_Table_in_Word.doc
It will be something like
...courses/1/FDEWB0001/content/_488415_1/2027B.htm
This is the link you need.
Good luck

Subject: HTML pages displayed in Bb
Hi,
I have an HTML file stored in Bb. When I open the file with "Open in
New Window" it is displayed in a Bb frame containing a link back to
the
folder in which it is stored, ie the same display as would be expected
if the "Open in New Window" option was not used.
When I look at the storage location I get something akin to the
following:
..............action=LINK&render_type=DEFAULT&file_id=_59534_1
I presume that this is what is causing the file to be dispalyed in
this
manner.
The internal Bb storage location for images is the same as HTML files
but text, spreadsheet or pp files have a reasonably recognisable
location of the form :......
content/_3501_1/Text_and_Table_in_Word.doc
I want to use the HTML file in a quiz and I do not want the students
to
get confused by presenting them with a link back to the area in which
I
am storing the HTML file.
I can avoid the problem by storing the file on an external server but
I
would rather not have to do that for all staff.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me if there is a way round
this problem.
thanks,
Arthur Loughran
