We were suffering from this problem on a certain section of our network
which had a proxy; we found that making requests to our server from that
network not go through that network's proxy seemed to solve the problem.
We are still currently investigating
A second line of investigation we are following is to change a
blackboard property which is to do with authentication, apparently after
app pack 2 the way cookies are sent out has changed (per page basis) and
apparently commenting out this line...
<Valve className="blackboard.servletcontainer.tomcat.BbSessionValve"/>
in the properties file...
blackboard/apps/tomcat/conf/server.xml
applying the change and then clearing the sessions table in the database
will revert back to the functionality before app pack 2.
We are still yet to try if this works as the problem is so temperamental
it's very hard to test!
