Hi everyone,
I've been told that the college will 'seriously look' at a move to
Enterprise from our current Basic installation if I can prove a business
case for us to do so. I've already got a few strings to my bow on this one-
we're currently in the process of moving our student records system to
Fretwell Downing, and I've got the support our our data protection officer
to argue with me that we seriously risk breaching data protection with our
current system. (Particualrly keeping the information relevant and up to
date- impossible task!).
What I'm looking for is some facts and figures from organisations who have
already made the jump to Enterprise from a previous Basic installation. Has
staff use been improved as they can be assured that all their students will
be able to access it? Has it benefited students and moved the system from
being on the fringe of learning to being in the centre? Has the reduced
staff time spent on basic processes, such as user management, led to
developments in the technologies used for teaching and learning within your
organisation? Any other benefits that you have had as a result of moving to
Enterprise? What would be particualrly useful would be if anybody is
prepared to have their contact details included in the report I plan to
write for our governors? I highly doubt they will actually contact anybody,
but it would be nice to have a few people prepared to say that I haven't
made it all up. It would be email addresses and the organisation you work
for only, no phone numbers so you won't be verbally grilled by our SMT!
Thanks.
