WE INVITE YOU to a one-day INNOVATION EVENT
02 April, 2004, at the Waterside Hotel, Bath
THE CENTRE FOR BIOMIMETIC & NATURAL TECHNOLOGIES
has for several years been improving its unique methods to address
innovation in engineering design. We invite you to join us in our first
public work-shop to add these methods to your existing toolkit,
whilst also collaborating on a practical, commercializable product.
BENEFITS and DELIVERABLES
The workshop will present and apply advanced lateral thought
processes, for highly technical invention as well as solution of
everyday challenges. Our tools will show you how to deal with
contradiction and implement mimicry of nature, through three
different approaches:
· Biology – discussing fine points of self-organizing systems and
evolution from the cellular to eco-system level
· Biomimetics – developing skill in integrating function and design
from biology with engineering
· Innovation Methods – understanding the latest theories of
creative
thinking, including an expositionof the underlying mechanics of TRIZ,
the Russian ‘Theory of Inventive Problem-Solving’ and the use of FLOW,
extended from the original concept of Csikzsentmihalyi
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
· Researchers in Product Development; especially for SME and
start-ups
· University Lecturers
· Government and DTI
· Organizational specialists and Consultancies
· Managers who want to increase productivity
PROGRAMME LEADERS
