never saw another butterfly" -Children's Art from
Theresienstadt 23 March - 20 June 2004, taking place at THE JEWISH
MUSEUM, CAMDEN TOWN, lONDON.

Events at Camden Town:

Sunday 18 April at 3pm
"There are no children here" 
Thomas Geve, Auschwitz and Buchenwald survivor, presents a short film
exploring his life in the camps and the art resulting from his experiences.
He describes his lifelong work in educating German children about the
Holocaust.
This event is in association with the Goethe Institute.
Admission £ 5 (£4 for Museum friends)

Tuesday 11 May at 7pm
The Theresienstadt Ghetto
Eminent author and historian Sir Martin Gilbert of Merton College, Oxford,
describes the unique nature of the Theresienstadt ghetto and the sinister
purpose behind its establishment.
Admission £ 5 (£4 for Museum friends)

Sunday 20 June at 3pm         
Healing through Art- helping children by art therapy
Liesl Silverstone left Czechoslovakia on the last kindertransport organised
by Sir Nicholas Winton. Author of  'Art Therapy the Person-Centred Way', she
describes how her background as a refugee and later as a school counsellor
led her to develop new forms of art therapy for children and adults.
This talk is part of Refugee week.

Wednesday 2 June at 2.30pm
Nicholas Winton : The Power of Good
A documentary film telling the extraordinary story of Sir Nicholas Winton
and the Czech Kindertransports, when in 1939, largely through Winton's
efforts, hundreds of children were able to escape the Nazis and brought by
train to Britain. 
Introduced by Vera Gissing who escaped from Prague on one of the eight
Winton trains.
A half-term family event organised as part of Museum and Galleries Month
2004 
Admission £ 4 (£3 for Museum friends)


Sunday 13 June at 7.30pm
Songs from Theresienstadt
Young Israeli musicians Marc Verter (piano) and Maya Kasir (soprano) present
their acclaimed programme of songs composed in Theresienstadt by Gideon
Klein, Viktor Ullmann and others.
 The evening will also include readings of poems written during the
Holocaust.
In association with the Jewish Music Institute and the New North London
Synagogue  
Tickets £7.50

These events will take place at The Jewish Museum,
The Sternberg Centre, 80 East End Road, London N3 2SY.
Advance booking is recommended.
