The second Buckinghamshire Breaking the Illusions Black media festival
takes place between 7th and 10th October at various venues in High
Wycombe.   The Festival programme is given below and the organisers would
be grateful if you could circulate the details to anyone you feel would be
interested.  Thank you.

OVERVIEW OF FESTIVAL EVENTS

SCREENINGS

Feature length films, shorts, documentaries and animation screened
throughout the festival.

HOT SHOTS SHORT SCREENINGS PROGRAMME

Hot shots are a new strand for aspiring and first time directors providing
an opportunity to screen their work to a diverse audience.   The director
of the winning film will receive a course of their choice at the National
Film and Television School Short Course Unit.  The films will also be
streamed on Every Generation Media website


TALKING MOVIES with...

Talking Movies is an informal information session with a producer,
director, actor or industry executive.  It's your opportunity to ask the
questions.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Sistas in Spotlight - Black Women Making Waves in the Media
Sistas in the Spotlight: Black women making waves in the media following
the successful Sistas in the Spotlight event held in April. The conference
profiles black women working within the media industry. The conference will
explore issues affecting black women within the media and provide practical
information to women wanting to enter the industry.



Jazz movie brunch
An opportuity to enjoy a sumptious African-American and Caribbean Sunday
buffett  brunch at the Holiday Inn Hotel, whilst enjoying a series of
screenings paying homage to the late and great black women jazz singers of
our time.

 Special Effects Master Class

The session will include a general overview of present film digital video
playback systems their advantages and disadvantages and take a close look
at the Inbox®1000 digital playback system from Inbox Solutions Ltd.   In
addition, we will look at the career opportunities offered for working in
this sector of the film industry.


The 'Inn-place' to be during the festival

Looking for the best place to unravel Spike Lee's concepts while sipping a
cappuccino, or discuss the work of Paul Robson whilst enjoying a chilled
beer?  Look no further than the Junction Bar and Restaurant at the Holiday
Inn hotel at Handycross, High Wycombe.

Hosted by the Holiday Inn Hotel, the 'Inn-Place' to be will provide an
opportunity to network, discuss the latest screening or a place to relax
and just chill out.  With 50% discount on food and drinks in the hotel bar
and restaurant, this definitely makes it the Inn-Place to be during the
festival.
