Dear all
I'd be interested in views:
Our department is part of the local REMAP panel. We have a referral for a client who has a voucher wheelchair. She has now bought a pressure relief cushion & therefore needs the armrests raising. The local wheelchair service won't act as she has taken responsibility for the chair by accepting the voucher. REMAP constitution says it will carry out jobs which aren't the remit of other agencies. I'm therefore inclined to think that there is no reason why I shouldn't take this job on, but it seems to be a way of circumventing the voucher rules.
What does anyone think?
Please feel free to say "You shouldn't have put yourself in that position".
