Dear all,
REMINDER!!
Please find below details of the Registration Scheme evening reception, as
advertised in the April ARC edition. The reception is planned to take place on
the first evening of the May SoA two-day Seminar for Newly Qualified
Archivists. The reception is aimed at all those who are currently enrolled on
the Scheme or who are considering enrolling.
There are still a few places available, so please contact me as soon as
possible to confirm your place. Those who are currently booked to attend the
two-day seminar should note that they are required to make a separate booking
(via me) for attending the evening reception.

Registration Scheme Evening Reception 19th May 2004
As always, an Evening Reception will be held during the May two-day Seminars
for Recently Qualified Archival Professionals. It is intended that all those
attending the course will also be able to take part in the reception, as well
as any other interested potential and present Scheme candidates who would like
to come.
The evening provides a brief overview and introduction to the Registration
Scheme. It is an ideal time of year to take the opportunity to get a better
idea of what the Registration Scheme is all about and what it has to offer you
in your Continuing Professional Development. New jobs have been settled into
after completing the archives training course, and those already enrolled on
the Scheme may be in need of a gentle reminder of what is involved and to
regain some enthusiasm for putting in some more work on the portfolio!
The Reception will be informal, with refreshments including a free buffet. The
focus of the Reception will be two or three short presentations given by guest
speakers (including from a current Scheme candidate and from a recently
Registered Member) on what the Scheme involves in practice.
The evening will also provide the opportunity to mingle with others enrolled
on the Scheme and to get some ideas for new angles on your approach to putting
your portfolio together. The Registration Scheme Registrar will also be in
attendance, and successful portfolios will be available for inspection!
