13.30–15.30: Marvellous Manuscripts
A closer look at some of the NMM’s unique personal manuscripts,
ephemera and photographs and the opportunity to discover what can be
learnt from them. Also gain tips on how to preserve your own family
records. Drop-in activity.

15.00: The National Maritime Museum’s
Merchant Navy sources for family history
A talk outlining the resources held at the NMM for tracing ancestors
who were in the Merchant Navy. Afterwards, there will be the
opportunity to further your research in the Caird Library.
Friday, 7 May 2004
15.00: On-line family history sources using the
E-library @ the NMM: talk and interactive session
An introduction to internet resources of use to family historians. Sources
covered will include the NMM catalogues, PORT CITIES, the Ellis Island
website and the 1901 census on-line. Afterwards there will be an
opportunity to conduct your own research in the E-library.
All events take place in the E-library @ the National
Maritime Museum and must be booked in advance.
