Dear all,
As part of Archive Awareness Campaign 2004 The National Archives is
providing two media training events in July. The first will be on Wednesday
14 July from 11am to 4pm at The National Archives in Kew, west London. The
second will take place on 27 July from 11am to 4pm at the Forsythe Centre at
the University of Liverpool. Both of these days are free of charge.
The day will offer advice on responding to media enquiries and proactively
seeking publicity for your AAC events and will offer tips on writing press
releases, being interviewed, getting your key messages across and dealing
with the media generally. There will also be plenty of opportunity to
practice the theory with mock interviews and practice press releases. In
preparation for the media training we would ask you to prepare a brief case
study of an AAC event - real or fictional - with details of the type of
event it is, the time and location of the event, the number of people
expected to attend, the participation cost or if it is free etc. These will
be used as a basis for various exercises on the day.
Each day has a capacity of 50 places which will be allocated on a first come
first served basis. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to
reserve your place on either day please contact Lucy Fulton, Archive
Awareness Campaign Officer on 020 8392 5237 or email
