Scale S01/S02 (£21,282-£24,726) pay award pending
Derbyshire Record Office provides the archive service for the county of Derbyshire and the city and diocese of Derby from its headquarters in Matlock in the heart of the picturesque Peak District.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Senior Archivist to develop further our services to the public and to manage a team of support staff. With experience of the full range of archive professional work, including at least two years' recent experience in delivering archive services to the public, you will also contribute to the management and development of the archive service as a whole. Competence in computerised archive cataloguing systems is essential, as is awareness of recent legislation and current professional issues.
You need to show strong commitment to public services, excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage and motivate staff. A recognised postgraduate qualification in archive management is essential and it is desirable that the successful applicant is either a registered member of the Society of Archivists or a pre-registration trainee. A current clean driving licence is also essential.
