Part-time Archive Assistant (0.8FTE).
Two Year Fixed Term Contract, 4 days per week, 1 September 2004 - 31 August
2006
The Serge Prokofiev Archive is recruiting an Archive Assistant. You will
organise and catalogue the Prokofiev archival collections and develop a
preservation scheme. Other duties will include providing an enquiry service
(online and reading room), and processing orders for reproduction. You will
work closely to the Curator, Mrs Noëlle Mann, and be located in the College
Library's special collections area.
You will have a reading level knowledge of Russian, and significant
experience of using and developing complex databases, and word processing.
It is essential that you are self-motivated and have the ability to work on
your own, both methodically and accurately. You will be a graduate in
music, Russian or archives/librarianship.
Your communications skills will enable you to deal politely and efficiently
with visitors. It will be an advantage to have knowledge of cataloguing
standards and an interest in Russian music. This post is an excellent
opportunity to gain experience before seeking professional archive
qualifications or for someone recently qualified.
Salary for this post will be on either CRA3 scale: £15,681 - £17,737; or
CRA4 scale: £17,737 - £20,149, depending on experience or qualifications,
all pro-rata for part-time work.
