Information Access Officer
(Scale SO1 - £21,282 - £22,689)
Worcestershire County Council is looking for a self-motivated individual to
assist in taking forward the Council's response to 'access to information'
legislation. This is a chance to work strategically with employees across
an authority that is eager to embrace new challenges.
Educated to degree level, you will have a minimum of two years experience
working in an information, policy or records field and a proven
understanding of the Data Protection (DPA) and Freedom of Information (FoI)
Acts and their implications for public authorities. Qualifications in this
area would be an advantage.
You will have excellent communication skills and be well-organised in your
work. Proven influencing skills will be important in this role, as will a
strong regard for confidentiality and the ability to work well as part of a
team.
The duties will include responding to subject access requests, jointly
developing policy and procedures to meet the demands of FoI and involvement
in information sharing initiatives between the County Council and other
organisations. You will report to the Policy Officer (Information) and
deputise as appropriate.
