ONE DAY POSTGRADUATE FORUM
WHEN 20th September 2004
WHERE University of Central England, Birmingham
WHO MeCCSA Postgraduate Network.
MeCCSA, in conjunction with the Art, Design, Communication – Learning and Teaching Support Network, recently launched a postgraduate network.
The aim of the Postgraduate Network is to bring together postgraduate students in media, communication and cultural studies from different intellectual traditions and cultural backgrounds in order to form research, and teaching and learning networks and also ensure peer support. The Postgraduate Network Executive Committee has members from the University of Aberystwyth, Cardiff, University of Central England, Birmingham, Glasgow University, London School of Economics, Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, University of Stirling, University of Sunderland, University of Sussex and University of Westminster.
The network is holding a one-day national forum for postgraduate students on 20th September in Birmingham. The forum aims to debate contemporary issues in doctoral research, such as publishing, teaching and learning and employment issues. There will be workshops by Professor Peter Golding (Loughborough University) and Professor Sue Thornham (University of Sussex). The forum will also provide an opportunity for postgraduate students to present their own research, share their experiences, and gain feedback from other postgraduate students within the field of media, communication and cultural studies in an informal and supportive environment. Pre and post social events are being organised for postgraduate students to maximise their networking time with other postgraduate students.
For more information about the network as well as an up to date programme for the day together with details of how to register for the event please contact Vicky Ball at [log in to unmask] =
