JOB: CONSULTANT RESEARCH STATISTICIAN
LOCATION: INSTITUTE OF GRASSLAND AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH, ABERYSTWYTH, UK
The Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research (IGER) is one of the Institutes of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. IGER is the major centre for independent research aimed at improving the efficiency, potential and sustainability of grassland-related agriculture.
A Consultant Research Statistician is needed to meet Institute-wide requirements for statistical consultancy and innovative data analysis. The postholder will provide specialised and general statistical support and training as well as innovation in statistical approaches and data analysis methods.
Candidates must possess a degree in an appropriate discipline and a recognised statistical qualification with a minimum of 3 years relevant postgraduate experience in statistical research and/or consultancy, more than 5 years experience is desirable. A record in statistical innovation and of dealing with colleagues on a consultancy basis is essential. Familiarity with the role of the statistician in QA and ethical review would be beneficial. A proven track record in the presentation and publication of research data is essential.
Appointment will be at Band 5 or 4 depending upon the professional experience and publication record of the successful candidate. Salary: £26,000 - £38,500.
