I am ( once again) revising my statistics courses. One in particular
is for mathematicians and similar people who have done a fairly basic
probability course but no ( at least we cannot assume they have)
statistics. In the past we have aimed to cover some sampling,
estimation and a little inference - the emphasis being on concepts
rather than recipes. At present I am seeking a book for the course.
Going through the "Intro to Mathematical Statistics" , "Intro to
Statistics" texts I don't find anything to excite me. Has anyone any
suggestions?
Ideally I would like to corrupt these students and get then to become
statisticians!
