Signal Processing Engineer / Statistician 

£30k-35k depending on experience + options

universities and research institutes. With powerful statistical

BlueGnome is seeking an energetic individual with excellent signal
processing / Bayesian statistical modeling skills to develop next
generation data analysis solutions for the biotechnology and
pharmaceutical sectors.

The role:
•     Based at our Cambridge (U.K.) offices, you will play a leading
role in our world class signal processing / stats team.
•     Your primary responsibility will be to specify, document, and
prototype state-of-the-art models and algorithms to solve real-world
problems. You will work closely with our customers to develop solutions
that meet real needs. Where appropriate, you will publish this work
either in academic journals or the patent literature.
•     Working closely with our product development team you will
implement and maintain production quality, numerical C++ code for the
algorithms/models you develop.

The individual:

You will be an exceptionally bright, delivery focused individual with a
strong research background in Bayesian statistical modeling. Possessing
a Ph.D. in applied mathematics at a minimum (applicants with a Masters
degree may be considered if they also possess strong industry
experience), you will have a demonstrable ability to take real world
data and independently develop and implement elegant models and
algorithms which deliver appreciable gains over the state-of-the-art.
You will be keen to work with a fun and energetic team, and will want
first hand experience working in a start-up. Ideally, you will have
experience in commercial software development. Highly self-motivated,
creative and resilient, you will have strong communication skills.
