Space-Filling Experimental Designs: Their Optimality and Connections with Cyclic Block Designs
Space-filling designs have recently been considered in the context of computer simulation experiments and they may also be of wider interest. The designs are shown to be consistent with the bias-optimal design criteria of Box and Draper and the numerical integration problem of selecting design points. A new class of frequency-based designs is introduced in which the factor generators are carefully chosen to ensure orthogonality of effects. Connections are made with the choice of generators in cyclic block designs.
There is also an additional East Midlands RSS Local group talk this term. Details follow:

Bayesian approaches to evidence synthesis & decision analysis - assessing the appropriate use of hormone replacement therapy. In deciding whether a pharmaceutical should be withdrawn from clinical use, or its use restricted, the synthesis and integration of evidence from a variety of heterogeneous sources, regarding both potential harms and benefits, is often required. Bayesian approaches to such analyses are illustrated by considering the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
All welcome with coffee at 3:45. Please drop me an E-mail if you require more details or directions.
