Senior Statistician/Statistician, GlaxoSmithKline, various UK sites (Req

GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading healthcare organisations
with a portfolio of products containing some of the most widely used and
innovative medicines on the market. Statisticians have influential roles
across GSK not least in Global Manufacturing and Supply, where SixSigma
underpins operational excellence. Within GMS, Primary Supply manufactures
the active ingredients for GSK products.

ANY UK SITE, Northwest or Southeast England - Dartford, Beckenham,
Brentford, Worthing, Scotland

Minimum Requirements:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
Design of Experiments.
Multivariate data analysis & statistical modelling. Developing and
implementing statistical best practice and software solutions.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experienced Graduate
Experience of working alongside senior managers.
Experience in manufacturing.
Knowledge of SixSigma.
Statistical systems.

Job details
Joining Primary and Antibiotics Supply (PAS), which manufactures active
ingredients for GSK products, you will use your theoretical knowledge and
practical experience in industry or academia to identify opportunities and
develop solutions to help achieve our business goals. As a senior
statistician you will specify and lead projects on sites and for central
functions for process development, new product introduction and quality
control including SixSigma projects.

The position can be based at any of the PAS Sites in the UK*, but will
preferably be at the Statistics Centre of Excellence is at Ulverston on
the edge of the Lake District, a location with an excellent quality of
life, good schools and access to some of the most stunning countryside the
UK has to offer. Wherever based you will be expected to travel within the
UK, and may travel in Europe and worldwide.

You could be a recent graduate or be looking for greater challenges in a
technically demanding environment. You will gain significant experience of
statistical consultancy, and be expected to develop your communication,
influencing and technical skills. You will have responsibility for
delivering statistical support to projects and business functions, with
support and coaching within the statistics team. For the senior position
you will an experienced graduate statistician, and a good communicator
capable of working alongside senior business improvement, production,
quality and technical managers. Whilst not essential, experience in
manufacturing, SixSigma or statistical systems will be an advantage. For
both positions expertise in some of the following core statistical
competencies will be needed - Statistical Process Control and Design of
Experiments for process improvement, multivariate data analysis and
statistical modelling, and developing and implementing statistical best
practice and software solutions.

For those graduating this year with a BSc, MSc or PhD, there is also an
opportunity to join our two year Graduate Development Programme and gain
experience of applying your skills and knowledge in industry.

*PAS Locations: - Ulverston (Cumbria), Irvine (Ayrshire), Dartford,
Beckenham (Kent), Worthing, (Sussex), GSK House (Brentford).
