A medical statistician is required to join a research team who are
undertaking a systematic review of the time series literature on the
short-term health effects of outdoor air pollution. Data describing the
estimated effects of a range of pollutants on a number of health
outcomes have been extracted and entered into ACCESS databases. Analyses
of these data have supported reviews of the evidence for health effects
of air pollution by the Department of Health, World Health Organisation
and the Health Effects Institute in America.
We are seeking to appoint a Statistician to provide support directly to
the Department of Health and to the CHS Department's ongoing programme
of research. The successful applicant will have substantial experience
of using database software, preferably ACCESS, and of using statistical
software. A careful, methodological approach and very close attention to
detail are key requirements for this post.
The appointment will be on the scale RA1B, £21,783 to £23,963 pa inc
depending on experience.
