LSDA’s mission is to improve the quality of post-16 education and training
in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We do this through research to
inform policy and practice, through helping to shape and communicate
education policy, and through improvement and support programmes for
organisations that deliver post-16 education and training.
Statistician
Up to £33,000 p.a.
Central London
We are seeking an experienced statistician to lead and manage the
Quantitative Research Team. This new and important role will see you
leading on the development of quantitative and statistical methods within
the Research Directorate at LSDA. You will be responsible for helping LSDA
to make use of a range of relevant data sources and work with relevant
colleagues to design projects which use and interpret statistical data. You
will maintain and strengthen links with key stakeholder including the
Learning and Skills Council and the Department for Education and Skills to
ensure that best use is made of information already available on post-16
education and training.
You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent and preferably have a
higher degree. You should have a minimum of two year’s experience of
managing staff and substantial experience of applying statistical
techniques within a research environment. A comprehensive understanding of
statistical principles and standard techniques including analysis of
variance, regression, forecasting and multi-level modeling is preferred.
You will posses excellent communication skills, including the ability to
convey complex, technical information to a range of audiences.
