Medical Statistician
A Medical Statistician is required to support the research, consulting and teaching activities of the Research and Development Support Unit and the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility. The candidate will be required to provide advice to health professionals and university researchers, to support research from design through to analysis and presentation of results and to assist in training and teaching. The post will be based in the Research and Development Support Unit, School of Medicine, and will involve collaboration with researchers in other clinical Schools within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences, and other Faculties in the University.
An MSc in medical statistics is essential. Good presentational, consultancy and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate statistical issues to non-statisticians are essential. A working knowledge of statistical packages (such as Stata, SPSS or SAS) is also important. A desire to develop skills in applied medical statistics would be welcome. Applications are invited from newly qualified medical statisticians as well as those with experience.
