Dear All,
One of my personal tutees, a student who pursued a combined
Maths and Management degree, has recently graduated with a
First class honours degree. He has excellent marks on his
Maths exam and has studied a fair amount of Statistics, though
of course some of his time was taken up with Management courses.
He would like to become a Statistician and has asked me how
he might best make a start. As I'm not a proper statistician
myself (though I sometimes play one in introductory courses)
I hoped the list might have some suggestions for him.
Thanks,
Mark
P.S. On the recommendation of a colleague I suggested he
might want to get an M.Sc., but he wasn't able to find a
funded place and can't afford to fund himself.
