TWO TEACHING FELLOWS IN STATISTICS
Two Years Fixed-term Contract
Salary Scale: Other Related 2 - £22,507 - £29,128
Applications are invited for the above posts, which are tenable from 1
October 2004, or by negotiation. It is essential that the applicants
should have a good first degree (at least an upper second class honours
degree) in mathematics and, ideally, a postgraduate degree in
mathematics. Some experience of teaching in Higher Education would also
be desirable.
The appointees will be expected to teach core statistics modules in the
first two undergraduate years. In addition, the appointees will be
expected to contribute to the teaching of final year statistics modules
and to the delivery of statistics modules for undergraduate medical
students and students in Life Sciences.
The Mathematics Department has a small, but flourishing, medical
statistics group and an internationally recognised applied mathematics
group that was awarded 5A in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
