The post holder will work under the immediate direction of Dr. Barbara
Maughan, and under the overall direction of the Centre Director, Professor
Peter McGuffin.
Job Summary
The post holder will be involved in a research programme investigating the
nature and causes of time trends in child and adolescent mental health.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will include the following.
§ Preparation of datasets, and related methodological tasks
§ Conduct of statistical analyses under supervision by Dr. Stephan
Collishaw
§ Liaison with statistical consultant Prof. Andrew Pickles
(University of Manchester).
§ Literature searching/reviewing
§ Contribution to the theoretical development of ideas
§ Preparation of draft reports, presentations and papers
§ Preparation and conduct of school-based instrument calibration
study (including recruitment of and liaison with schools, data collection
and entry)
§
§ Any other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the
supervisors

Non-clinical Research Grade RA1A /RA1B
The above duties will be subject to review from time to time, in discussion
with the post holder, to ascertain whether they meet the requirements of
the department.
