Statistician
Up to £40,000 depending on experience
Two posts, one permanent, one fixed term for 12 months
To improve the quality of patient care across England and Wales, the
government established the Healthcare Commission legally known as The
Commission for Healthcare Audit and Inspection. Given the magnitude of our
role and the immensity of the challenge, it's vitally important that our
analysis functions maintain the highest of standards, and this is where
your expertise comes in. We need the support of a credible and competent
statistician to analyse large complex data sets, undertake quality
assurance checks and provide expert advice on statistical methodology,
particularly on methods used to make institutional comparisons. You will
be actively involved in numerous work streams and play a key role in the
identification and implementation of improvements in the methods of
analysis we employ. With at least five years' experience of analysis,
ideally in a health related environment, you'll have a thorough
understanding of applied statistical methodology. Good communication
skills, a high level of PC literacy and plenty of initiative are also
essential.
To request an application pack, which will include full job descriptions,
please call our recruitment line on 0870 4422574. Lines are open between
8am-7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-2pm on Saturdays (answerphone out of
