One weeklong course will be held this year as part of Royal Statistical Society's Graduate Training Programme. It will take place at Wolfson Court in Cambridge between 19 and 24 September and will comprise two modules:
* 'probability models'
* 'fundamentals of statistical theory'
presented by Nick Bingham and Alastair Young respectively.
Details and an application form are available from the RSS web site http://www.rss.org.uk/GTP/index.html - or from Paul Gentry at the Society ([log in to unmask]). The deadline for applications is Friday 16 July.
There is funding available from the EPSRC to support 30 subsidised places per course. Priority for these funded places will be given to EPSRC supported students but anyone registered for a PhD in statistics within the UK may apply.
Students with a funded place need only meet their own travel costs and a registration fee of £100. The cost for non-funded places (covering registration, accommodation and meals) will £400.
