Our Veterinary Medicine Division is the largest research organisation of its
kind in the world, and a vital part of our work lies in effectively
understanding the results of our research. We produce many of the leading
products on the market, and it's a highly profitable and growing part of out
business. Many of our recent successes were developed in Sandwich, and the
drugs and vaccines we have in the pipeline are very promising indeed.
Following a major expansion of our vaccine portfolio we are looking for an
additional statistician.
You'll be part of a small team that works closely with veterinarians and
biologists throughout the drug/vaccine development process, advising on all
aspects of experimental design, statistical methodology, data collection,
analysis and interpretation. Understanding what scientists want, and being
able to give advice is vital. So, within a short space of time, you must
gain a good appreciation of their work. You also need to be versatile, as
you'll be working on a variety of projects supported by contract researchers
and staff from our sister site in the US.
On the technical side, at least 2 years' experience of using a major
statistical package, such as SAS, is essential. Knowledge of mixed model
methodology would be a big advantage. You'll certainly need to be qualified
to at least degree level and have 2-5 year's experience in scientific
research. If you have more experience, you could well take a senior
co-ordinating role in our group.
The rewards we're offering are everything you would expect of one of the
world's largest pharmaceutical company. Find out more by sending your CV
quoting ref: G358/2003/Allstat, to: The Animal Health Resourcing Assistant,
Pfizer Global Research and Development (IPC 077), Ramsgate Road, Sandwich,
Kent CT13 9NJ.
