influences on health, we are pleased to be able to offer the following
positions:-
Statistician/Survey Analyst: Band 4: Fixed term - 3 Years
You will undertake interesting and varied secondary analyses of the
Scottish Health Survey. This involves analysing the relationship between
socio-economic status, deprivation and health in the 2003 survey, with a
focus on improving our understanding of the health gap between Glasgow and
the rest of Scotland. You will have a good honours degree and either a
higher degree in statistics/epidemiology or equivalent research
experience in an area with high statistical content. You will have at
least 3 years experience working in a research environment, preferably
analysing survey data and have a good publications record. This post
attracts a starting salary between 25,647 and 28,373 GBP. Ref AL1
MRC Career Development Fellow in Statistics/Quantitative Research: Band 4:
Fixed term - 3 Years
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake post doctoral training and
development, widen research and transferable skills and form collaborative
links. Applicants must have either just completed or be about to complete
a PhD in statistics/epidemiology. Preference will be given to candidates
with experience of working with large data sets as the successful applicant
will be working as part of a team investigating the ways in which the
health of migrants differs from the health of the population who don't
move, and how this impacts on the health (and measurement of the health) of
the Scottish population. The successful candidate will have a starting
salary between 24,138 and 25,134 GBP. Ref AL2
