You will be working closely with scientists and experts both inside and
outside the company, influencing the development of brands and impacting on
our business.

Main Job Purpose

The main purpose of the job is to provide statistical / modelling
consultancy and to work in multidisciplinary project teams with scientists
to assess the risk to human health posed by chemicals. The successful
applicant will be involved at all stages of a project, from design / data
selection to analysis, interpretation and communication. The work is not
routine, and the scientific and mathematical challenges are many and varied.

Areas of application include PBPK modelling, Bayesian methods, epidemiology,
exposure modelling and analysis of -omics data.

Activities

*       Consultancy on statistical analysis and modelling for scientists,
experts and project teams.
*       Identification of data requirements for the development of new
models.
*       Robust analysis. Creation of clear, consistent and transparent
models.
*       Interpretation and communication of results
*       Identification and application of new statistical / modelling
techniques and approaches.
*       Liaison with external statistical / modelling communities, ensuring
that statistical / modelling capability within the department remains
strong.

Qualifications and Experience Required

The ideal applicant could either have an MSc / PhD in an applied maths-based
subject and have applied their statistical knowledge to biological problems,
or come from a more biological background with a very significant
quantitative and statistical component to their work. They will be able to
demonstrate one or more of: proven consultancy experience, good academic
links and experience in a safety / pharmaceutical domain.
