Hi all,
If an OR is greater than 1, per example, OR of smoker vs non-smoker is 1.5 than we say that smokers has 50% more chance of developping the disease than non-smokers or alternatively, smokers has 1.4 times the probability of developping the disease.
What we can say when the OR is less than ? Per example, if OR smoker vs non-smoker is 0.560 ?
Can we say the smokers have 44% less chance of developping the disease ?
I know we could do 1 over the OR to inverse it and then interpret as non-smoker vs smoker but we still want to present the OR less than 1.
Thanks
