The Institute of Public Health, Federal University of Bahia, located in the
beautiful tropical city of Salvador in the state of Bahia in northeastern
Brazil is conducting large epidemiological studies in the field of
infectious diseases, e.g. community trials, vaccine trials, surveys,
observational studies, etc. and has the following opportunities:
1) Post-Doc Position in Biostatistics
to work in the project: "The impact of urbanization, migration, changes in
lifestyle and exposure to infection on frequency of atopic and autoimmune
diseases in Latin America." Candidates should have a PhD degree in
Statistics or in a similar quantitative field and interest to broaden
her/his experience in applied statistics.
2) Opportunities for Master’s and PhD students
interested to develop their research activities working on diverse research
topics in infectious diseases. Candidates should have a BSc or Master’s
degree in Statistics, Public Health or Epidemiology and are enrolled in a
Master/PhD program in one of these fields.
The infectious disease unit is an international study group, the candidates
should have good verbal and written English skills, Portuguese is not
required.
